MUSIC NOTES 

March 2012

PK & K - We are now singing some spring songs, and Easter songs. We are practicing keeping the beat to the songs. Kindergarten is exploring the rhythm instruments. We are learning the song "We are Fine Muscians".

Grades 1-3 ~ We are singing some of our favorite songs, songs for our all-school mass and also songs of spring.

Grade 4 ~ We are learning some of the basic music symbols and how they look in a piece of music. So far we've learned; staff, clef, notes and rests. We then saw how they were arranged in written music.

Grades 5 & 6 ~ We are reviewing our notes and will be having our test on Music Theory.

Grade 7  ~ We continue studying the History of American Music. 7th grade is currently learning about the beginnings of jazz and will be taking a test on this material.

Grade 8 ~ 8th grade has been listening and evaluating songs for the 8th grade slide presentation. We will also vote on our 8th grade graduation song. 

HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS

5th Grade ~ Study for music test on Thursday, March 29th. 

6th Grade ~  Study for music test on Monday, April 2nd.

7th Grade ~ Study notes for music test on Friday, March 30th.

8th Grade ~   none
