 Ms. Perkins' Second Grade Class News Marvelous March News Reading - Our unit of study in reading is "Family Time." The students are learning about how to predict and infer, verbs that tell about the past, and personal narratives. Theme selections will be implemented in our reading curriculum. Upcoming themes are Saint Patrick's Day, Spring, Weather, and books by Patricia Polacco. AR Reading - Reading is the single most important thing you can do to help your child at home. Please read at least 20 minutes each night and record the time spent reading on the reading log. Make sure your child reads their AR book at least two times and ask your child comprehension questions about the book before they try to test on the book. CONGRATULATIONS TO Corbin Bolick(313%) and Sarah West for reaching their 150% goal. The following have met their 100% goal so far: Cheyanne Anders, Sydney Borst, Matthew Dailey, Madison Henry, and Star Dula. Math- We are learning to add and subtract three-digit numbers in math. This is a new skill for the students. Please review addition and subtraction facts at home to help make this process easier for them. Science - We will have our IMPACT unit of study this month. This will be on Matter (solids, liquids, and gases). The children will enjoy all the interesting activities the teachers have planned! Congratulations, Good Citizens!
