Homework (Thanks for your support.  It certainly shines through at school!)

• Practice counting by 1s, 5, and 10s to 100.
• Work on identifying coins (penny, nickel, dime, and quarter).
• Review the letter Gg as well as Mm, Bb, Ss, Tt, Ff ,Aa, Cc, Pp, Nn, Ii, Hh, Rr Ll, and Dd. (recognition, formation, and sound).  Use the alphabet model that was sent home previously to help reinforce correct formation.
• Review word wall words.  These are words your child needs to read quickly upon sight without sounding out.   We have worked on a, the, can, at, I, am, like, is, big, in, it, but, look, see, my and we.
• Bump Game (All 36 K Word Wall Word Words/Sight Words). 
• Snuggle up and enjoy a good book together. 

Classroom Needs/Wants:

• New crayons!  Please send in a box of 24 count Crayola crayons for your child.
• Please empty and return the envelope promptly that we are using for word study sorts.
• Please send your child to school with appropriate attire for outdoor recess (warm coat, hat and gloves) every day.
• Please wear P.E. shoes every day.
• Please send a healthy snack each day.
• Please return library books once you read them.
• Arrive on time!  If your child is eating breakfast at school, allow him/her time to eat prior to the tardy bell.  The tardy bell rings at 8:30 a.m.  FYI!  On a 1hr. delay, breakfast is cereal, juice, and milk.  On a 2 hr. delay, there is no breakfast.
• Boxtops (please cut them) and Coke Rewards

Dates to Remember:

• Kindergarten Field Trip to the SBO is February 8.  Please make sure you have returned the permission form.
• PSA is February 21.  Second graders will perform.
• No school!  President’s Day is February 20.
