Individual Activity: Due on Wednesday, 2/11/09 Students are to create a diorama of the River Environments. There is a two-page layout in our textbook. They may follow this as an example. They must represent every river environment. LABEL each river environment. Students have been given creative license. They may choose to build their project in a shoebox, on poster board, or anywhere in between. They may make small “flags” and label the environments with letters. If they choose this, they must provide a key to the flags.
River Environments Diorama Use pg. 278-279 as example Represent: Waterfalls & Rapids Flood Plain Tributary Beaches Oxbow Lake Meanders Valley Widening Bluffs Delta
BE CREATIVE!! You can use objects & materials to make your poster 3-dimensional. For example: on the Beaches environment – you may glue sand to the poster to create the “beach” effect.
Students also have the option of drawing the River Environments. Same rules apply – make sure that each environment is shown and labeled.
Students need a designated folder for Earth Science. They are responsible for Chapter Key Terms & Definitions and class notes. Students are expected to FINISH & SAVE all worksheets, notes & key terms for every chapter. These will be collected on the day of the Chapter Test!
