Harlem Renaissance: A Web Quest

You are about to embark on an internet adventure through the Harlem Renaissance.  Please follow all directions on the home page of Ms. Hogue’s Web Quest.  READ ALL THE WAY TO THE BOTTOM OF THE WEBQUEST PAGE!  The specifics for each portion of the assignment are there.  You will complete all assignments as directed with one additional assignment, a TPCASTT, for the poem.  We will be in the computer lab for several days beginning November 17th.  We will begin with the webquest and research. You will learn more about the assignment soon! When we get started,  please take care to stay on task!  The research that you do not complete during class will have to be completed at home.

This is your link to the Web Quest.  This page will be on my website so you can go to it from home.  To reach the link from school, copy and paste it into your browser.

What is graded?

  • Your brochure (handed in)
  • Your poetry reading (oral)
  • Your TPCASTT over the poem you are reading (handed in)
  • Your reflection (handed in)
  • Your works cited page (handed in)

The criteria on the rubric will be the same as Ms. Hogue’s, however, the point system will be different. Each assignment will be worth a total of 100 points on the 100 point scale, (what we usually use). Each assignment will carry the following weight:

  • Brochure: Test Grade
  • Poetry Reading: Quiz Grade
  • TPCASTT: Quiz Grade
  • Reflection: Daily Grade
  • Works Cited Page: Daily Grade

Under the heading “process” you will find a link called “how to cite”.  Click on this link to find helpful resources on how to create your Works Cited Page.

As you work through this, you should keep a word document open to copy and paste notes, pictures, your ideas and thoughts and anything else that may be helpful to you later as you create your brochure.  Save all items that you create, including notes, in the “Morris” folder.  Use the following guidelines for saving your work:

        yourlastname_webquest_notes

        yourlastname_webquest_brochure

        yourlastname_webquest_WSP     (works sited page)

Have a GREAT trip back in time to The Harlem Renaissance!
