The front pocket will hold parent/teacher communication charts for each week. These charts contain information about student behavior and homework. Please make sure you review this information each night and sign the log. Spelling words and weekly assignments will also be posted on the back side of this chart. Every night, students will be bringing home a book to read for homework. In order to earn Reading Counts points, students have to pass a quiz on the book or be able to read the book to me the next day, so please spend time having your child read these books to you each night. All homework will go in the pocket with the communication chart.
Classroom Behavior Classroom Rules:
Students are able to earn positive and negative points during the school day for their behavior. At the end of the day, points are added up, and students are able to use their points to choose items off the SuperStar Menu. Some items include computer time, prizes from the treasure box, and free homework passes, so be sure to ask your child what he or she got to order off of the menu! Passports
Students are working on earning stamps in their passports. Stamps can be earned for attendance, homework, and excellent behavior. A carnival will be held at the end of the year, and students need to earn 100 stamps to attend.
Donations
Classroom donations are always appreciated! If you would like to send in a donation, please do so at any time. We can always use: Kleenex, Clorox wipes, paper towels, dry erase boards and markers, stickers, small candy, and small prizes for the treasure box. Wal-mart and Staples gift cards are also accepted.
