This month we will complete Topics 5 and 6 in math. Refer to the outline of skills/concepts to be taught in the folder of information distributed on Curriculum Night. In Fundations we will complete Units 5 & 6 and continue to practice the monthly spelling word lists. Science this month will include tracking the weather and discussing the season change from fall to winter. We will learn about the seven continents in a social studies unit as we extend our knowledge of map skills. We will increase our awareness of diversity as we explore how people around the world celebrate holidays. We will discuss holiday traditions and customs our families share and identify the countries they originated from. The students will be practicing choral and readers theater passages that they will share at our Celebration Of Learning in January. They will also work on projects to have on display as they show their families what they have learned throughout this month long study. Our UCONN teachers will join us again at the end of January after their holiday break. Please remember to help your child return folders, forms and homework. Have a wonderful December!
