7th Grade - Students are continuing The Bronze Bow. Today worked on a character comparison for Leah and Malthace. We read part of Chapter 14 together. Students are to complete reading Chapter 14 for homework. Tuesday - Discuss Chapter 14. Discuss character comparison. Begin reading Chapter 15; complete for homework. Reading response on Wednesday. Thursday, pre-reading voacabulary for Chapters 16 - 18. Read Chapter 16-18. Complete packet questions. 8th Grade - Hand in project - I've Lived a Thousand Years. Introduce Discovery Process. Prereading activity for Discovery Unit. Define discovery. Identify outward and inward discoveries. Discuss process of discovery. Tuesday - Read Pages 266-268 in text book. Choose and read several Aesop's Fables. Discover the lesson to be learned and the life application. Choose an Aesop fable and illustrate. Wednesday - Continue Discovery Unit. Pre-reading activity for "The Wild Duck's Nest," pgs. 269-272. Read story. Thursday - discuss, analyze story. Discuss Scripture conntection. Identify discoveries made in God's Word. Applying God's truth. 9th Grade - Students have just completed presenting projects on I Have Lived a Thousand Years. Tuesday - Finish reading and discussing Phaethon. Wednesday - Post reading conversation on Paethon. Using About the Story Questions as basis for conversation. Introduce "The Revolt of Mother" - prereading activity - discuss positive and negative aspects of being strong-willed. Thursday - continue "Revolt of Mother" - Read - Discuss - Analyze. Friday - No school for students. 10th Grade - Drama - continue Romeo and Juliet. Tuesday - Watch a short excerpt from West Side Story. Compare to what we have read and viewed. Handout on balcony scene. Wednesday - continue Act II - Scenes V and VI. Work on handout. Thursday. Students will present activity associated with the balcony scene. 12th Grade - Drama - Macbeth. Notetaking on historical elements of Macbeth. View and discuss Act II. Handout to be completed in class on both Acts I and II. Wednesday - Begin Act III. Complete handouts on Acts I, II, and III. Final discussion on Acts I, II, and III. Related notes and activities. 8th Grade Math - Each student is working independently on adding and subtracting fractions. All students should complete work in Chapter 3 by Thursday. We will begin Chapter review and be prepared to take a test on Chapter 3 sometime next week. |
