The Robert E. Lee Math/Science and Engineering Magnet Academy is a rigorous program of study that focused on the "hard science" of many disciplines in addition to the "soft skills" such as teamwork, communication, and project design that graduates today need to succeed in our world of today. The "engineering aspect" of our program focuses on a variety of engineering disciples, including electrical systems, control systems, pneumatics, robotics, CNC and CAM, desktop publishing, thermodynamics, structural engineering and more.

Students that are a part of our magnet community are expected to participate in a program of study that is composed primarily of honors and advanced placement classes. Each student participates in a semester design project that uses each of the technology areas they have studied. Projects include smart-house security systems, personal hovercraft, steam-powered catapult, automated hydroponics garden and many others. Many of these projects are accomplished in collaboration with local engineering companies and organizations.

We are proud of the hard work that our students complete as they prepare for fascinating, valuable and rewarding careers in the 21st century!
