                                           WELCOME

Thank you for visiting my webpage

Granite Quarry Elementary aspires to be a school of excellence. We work daily to provide all students with a rigorous and relevant curriculum delivered by 21st Century researched based instruction.

" Excellence does not occur by accident, but rather by well planned intentions."

Our goal is to keep our students actively engaged while developing their critical and creative thinking, and problem solving skills. Through relevant instruction our students will be able to articulate thoughts and ideas effectively through speaking, writing and collaborative work.

To Insure Student Success We Will Utilize...
       Differentiated Instruction
       NC SCOS
       RSS Pacing Guides
       A Balanced Literacy Program
       Marzano's Levels of Thinking and
       Reasoning

We believe...In everything the      good is there; our goal is to find it.
 In every person the best is there;
our job is to recognize it. In every  problem the answer is there; our  responsibility is to provide it. We  encourage our students to... work  hard, be original, be unique and  success will follow.

As your Curriculum Coach, I am here to support and assist teachers by making available the best practices in all areas of the curriculum and recommend
strategies that  can be implemented in grades K-5.

 * A Curriculum coach should... Understand the role and      expectations of the coach.
 * Engage in continual professional development.
 * Develop a collaborative partnership with all stakeholders.
 * Organize time, materials, and opportunities to enhance    effectiveness.
 * Guide educators in making informed decisions about instruction    and school organization to increase student achievement.
 * Model professionalism and maintain a Code of Ethics.

Remember: If you treat children as they are,
they will remain as they are. If you treat children
for what they could be, they will become what
                      they can be.

IF WE SUCCEED IN GIVING THE LOVE OF LEARNING, THE LEARNING    ITSELF IS SURE TO FOLLOW.
