2009-2010 Spanish Class NOTE: HOMEWORK IS DUE ON THE FOLLOWING SPANISH CLASS. From class on Wednesday, May 5th: 7th Grade - you have a TEST next Wednesday, May 12th. 8th Grade - no homework - great job on your test! ------------------------------------------------ From class on Wednesday, April 28th: 8th Grade - you will have a test on conjugating the verb SER using the chart from your vocabulary word list. You will also need to know your vocabulary words. There will be no word banks this time - so STUDY. 7th Grade: Learn your vocabulary words from the last test! Some of you didn't study. Adjectives must agree in gender and singular/plural with the noun they describe. Noun = casa (house) Adjective = rojo (red) I have a red house = Tengo una casa roja
Noun = ojo (eye) Adjective = negro (black) I have two black eyes = Tengo dos ojos negros For your test: Study “The, a and some” for each gender, singular and plural. Know how to change adjectives to match the noun being described.
8th Grade: (homework assignment #5) You need to conjugate 3 verbs that end in "AR" for plural pronouns. Here is the chart we did in class, which also matches your handout:
Other verbs you might want to try are: hablar (to speak) cantar (to sing) caminar (to walk). Progress reports were handed out. If you like your grade, get your report signed and return it. If you don't like your grade, you may hand in missing work or fix poorly done work and hand it in October 14th. USE THIS SECTION TO HELP WITH YOUR HOMEWORK. To conjugate a verb that ends in AR or ER, take off the last 2 letters and replace them as follows for singular pronouns:
NecesitAR = take off the AR
Necesito = I need (replace the AR with an O) Necesita = he / she needs (replace the AR with an A) Necesita = you need (replace the AR with an A)

7th Grade - due Wednesday, September 23, 2009: (homework assignment #2) Find 6 nouns - 3 of them feminine gender and 3 masculine gender. Use the table below to write each variation of the noun. Example: noun = mesa (table) la mesa = the table las mesas = the tables una mesa = a table unas mesas = some tables.
8th Grade - due Wednesday, September 23, 2009: (homework assignment #2) 10 sentences using the handout I gave you -- if you LOST your handout, here is a copy you can print at home. The 10 sentences must be compound sentences using one of the LINK words (pero, o, y porque). Create the sentences using Group 1, Group 2 and Group 3 words and words from the vocabulary for this week. 8th Grade - write 10 sentences using the handout I gave you in class. Each sentence needs to have a word from group 1, group 2, and group 3. 8th Grade has a vocabulary quiz on the vocabulary words listed below. You need to know how to say some _____, a ________, there is a ________ etc. The table I had you write down in your notebooks is shown below:
8th Grade - due on Wednesday, September 9, 2009: (Homework assignment #1) 10 sentences - (5 using Quiero and 5 using Necesito). You may also use "no" quiero or no necesito if you'd like. DO NOT use the words from Group 3 on your handout. You should use the website www.spanishdict.com to look up words for your sentences. Look up nouns (objects or locations). This assignment counts for 10% of your Spanish homework grade. If you don't turn it in, this means the homework portion of your spanish grade can be 90% AT THE MOST.
