Course Overview

Algebra I is a one-year course that emphasizes the language of Algebra including symbols and operations.  Topics that are discussed include, but are not limited to:  solving, graphing, and writing linear equations and inequalities, exponents, quadratic equations and functions, and polynomials.  Graphing calculators are used for investigating and extending certain topics.

Course Description:

Algebra I-Part 1 is a course that teaches the concepts that are stressed in the first half of Algebra I.  Since some students progress more slowly and need to spend more time on basic concepts, this course provides the opportunity to take Algebra I over a two year period.  The second half of Algebra I is taken in Mathematics 34.  Topics that are discussed include but are not limited to:  order of operations, properties of real numbers, solving and graphing linear equations. Graphing calculators may be used for investigating and extending certain topics.

Course Overview

Senior Advanced Math is designed to prepare students for college mathematics whether they choose science, liberal arts, or a business course of study.  The topics will include:  analytical trigonometry, logarithmic functions and selected math topics to better prepare students for college level mathematics.  Technology and the graphing calculator will be an integral part of the course.
