Homework March 15-19 Homework is expected and will reflect your child’s grade. Homework can be turned in during the week, only if your child completes all work early, or your child can turn his or her homework in on Friday. It is important to teach your child responsibility for his or her work. Your child should take “pride” in all that he or she does. Please have your child put his or her name on all their work. Your child needs to put their first name and last name initial on all work. (Example: John D.) Monday- Write each spelling word 5 times each. (coin, soil, oil, boy, toy, point). (Bonus words: compare and contrast). We are now writing on notebook paper. Please follow the given format. Read nightly for 15 minutes. Tuesday- Write about your favorite ice cream. Give lots of details. Use lots of “sparkle words. Read nightly for 15 minutes. You should write 6 or more sentences. Please indent the first sentence and end your paper with a closing sentence. (See example). Wednesday- Do Math sheet. Read nightly for 15 minutes. Thursday- Book Report. Follow given directions. Read nightly for 15 minutes. Friday- Spelling Test to be given. Turn in Homework. If you finish all work before Friday, we may turn in your work. Please make sure you name is on all work. I always expect your best in all you do. For All Kids Sake, Mrs. Luther Here are a few ways you can make a difference in your child's life and promote SUCCESS. ** Read with your child each night and help your child create a love for reading. Ask questions about each story you read together to build memory and comprehension skills. ** Become involved in your child's education and offer your support whenever you can. Your involvement is important for your child's success in school!! ** Help your child each night with his/her homework assignments. These activities strenghen your child's academic skills. ** Begin a scrapbook and journal to record the special events shared with your family and friends. Your child can write about his/her wonderful experiences throughout the year! **Spend quality time with your child. Time with your child is priceless, and I hope you develop a wonderful bond with your child as you play a game or read a book together each evening. ** Talk with your child and ask each other questions. This will build vocabulary and communication skills, as well as social skills needed for success. ** Be a good role model for your child. Children watch and learn from our actions more than our words. When we are polite and courteous, and display kindness; they will follow our footsteps and become good citizens. ** Praise your child on all the accomplishments that are made this year! Let your child know that he/she is valued member of the family and community. ** Come and visit us! We always welcome volunteers and look forward to working with you this year. WE LOOK FORWARD TO A GREAT YEAR! WELCOME!!
