Forces and Motion, Simple Machines, and Wars and Conflicts Globally

We have been studying forces and motion with many hands-on activities, experiments, and through technology. This is an interactive way for students to learn vocabulary and Issac Newton's 3 Laws of Motion. I will continue to reenforce these 3 laws with more activities for better understanding.
I plan to incorporate simple machines with technology and activities. Students have fun while learning major concepts. They also like to quiz their parents to see if they remember studying this.
Before we go to the Price of Freedom Musuem we will devote, we will look at different wars the U.S. have been involved in from the past to the present. This will give us an opportunity to study a variety of countries.
Students will also begin reviewing the science material we learned during the first and second quarters through vocabulary games, activities, and use of Science Class scape. Sometimes we will work in teams. All of this is to help them be more at ease when we take the Science EOG in the middle of May.
I have already shared some web sites with them. They will revisit many of them for other activities.
Remember all of us learn new things everyday.

Review science vocabulary from all year so as not forget the vocabulary from the first of the year, (landforms and weather).
The World of Ecosystems

Students have been engaged in learning about biomes, ecosystems with the many facets, and how we can improve our environment for generations to come. They are exploring this through technology based lessons, hands-on experiences, speakers, and much more. Our planet is precious to all and the more knowledge we have the better we will be equipped to understand our problems and find solutions. These studies help us understand why people settle and live in many places. Students did a podcast dealing with this in the form of a commercial. This is not the only research and writing they are doing.
Expository writing they find is right up their alley since it involves giving
reasons. They seem to excel. The papers are fascinating to read.
