Welcome to Current Science!!!


I am one of the 2 Science teachers on the 7th grade hall. I am teamed with Mr. Shadroui for Social Studies. We will each spend 2 weeks on an area of study, then we will switch subjects. I will teach and assess the learning before we switch subjects. This should help alleviate any stress over remembering information over a time period.

We are continuing our study of the Human Body systems. We have covered Skeletal, Muscular, and Skin. We assessed these systems and then dove into Digestive, Respiratory and Circulatory. The "B" group is just now studying the three previous systems. We will cover Nervous system to complete the study of body systems. We will discover how each system relies on another to complete the overall health of our bodies. This unit of study is NC Obj 4:01-08. Once body systems are complete we will continue in the 3rd quarter with Genetics and Heredity. Please continue to ask your child what they are learning as we work through the close of body systems and then on to the interesting facts about "Why" we look the way we do.

Your child will be given 2 workbooks. Both need to come with them every day to my class. We will use a textbook in class. I will provide all material and fact your child will need in any given area of study. Their job will be to pay attention and to study this material.

The Current Events continue to be a HW assignment every 2 weeks.
I also use Current Events as a way for students to earn extra credit. If they complete a current event they can earn 25 extra points. This is obviously one done not as the HW assignment.

Please bring your planner each day, notebook paper, a NB and pencil or pen. Your text will be kept in the room. If you ever need to check one out, or have need of a book, please let me know.
