Welcome to Mrs. Trapp's First Grade  We are very excited to have Ms. Britney Porter continue as our student teacher. Ms. Porter has taken over classroom lessons and duties. She is doing a wonderful job and the students have formed positive relationships with her. Ms. Porter and I will work closely to insure a successful year for your child.  Important Dates March 2 - Jean Day $1.00 March 16 - PTA Family Movie Night 6:00 - 8:00 March 21 - Breakfast Book Club March 23 - Early Release March 30 - Spring Pictures  What are we learning about in March? Math - measurement, time Reading - realism and fantasy Writing - personal stories Science - solids, liquids,gases  3rd Quarter Homework Monday - Fill in the blank with a spelling word. Read for 15 minutes and record it in your reading log. Tuesday - Pick three spelling words. Write one sentence for each that includes at least 6 words. Read for 15 minutes and record it in your reading log. Wednesday - Complete the math sheet sent home. Read for 15 minutes and record it in your reading log. Thursday - Write each spelling word 5 times each. Read for 15 minutes and record it in your reading log.  Helpful Hints For First Grade: *Please check and sign your child's agenda nightly. *Please help your child complete homework nightly. *Read to your child daily. This can help with recall and retention of information plus it is a wonderful bonding time.
