D. Vogler Title l Welcome to North Rowan Elementary School ! I am a Title I Reading Specialist at North Rowan Elementary School where I work to help students learn strategies to become better readers with more fluency and comprehension skills. The Children's Progress Academic Assessment Winter Assessments have been completed for students in grades K-3. Look for the results to be sent home with your child. SRA offers two research-based programs which we are using at NRE. The Reading Mastery/Direct Instruction program focuses on students in grades K-2 and the Corrective Reading Program focuses on students in graders 3-5. Both programs focus on phonemic awareness, phonics/word analysis,fluency, and comprehension. The programs provide students, teachers, and administrators with all the critical components of research-based approach to closing the achievement gap for struggling readers through targeted small-group instruction that allows the students to progress through the lessons as they master the skills while accelerating the at and above grade level students. We are excited to be using these programs. |
