McDonald News 2009 - 2010 Fourth Grade Welcome back and Happy New Year 2010! I am looking forward to everyone turning a new leaf and putting forth even more effort for the remainder of this school year. Also, don't forget your manners and be respectful of each other. Please be mindful that we are off for Martin Luther King Jr. day on January 18th and also teacher workdays on January 21st and 22nd. ENJOY! Remember, the more you read, the more you know. The more you know, the better you will do in fourth grade. Practice makes perfect! Spelling: Every Monday night your child's homework will be to write your words three times each. Tuesday night studetns will need to write their words in ABC order. Your test will be on Friday or the last day of the week on short weeks. Please study!!! Vocabulary: Parents... Your child will have a list of vocabulary words for each new story. It would be helpful for them to study those words every night. They should continue to review words from their past word lists... you never know when they might show up again! Math: Learn your multiplication tables. Mrs. Barringer will be your child's math teacher. You will need to know multiplication facts for her weekly timed tests and for this year's EOG. Science & Social Studies: Mrs. DiStefano has joined 4th grade and she will be teaching these subjects. WELCOME Mrs. DiStefano!! Writing: We will be continuing to work on the elements of writing. This should be a fun learning experience. Hats off to future author's! Mrs. Barringer, Mrs. DiStefano and I are looking forward to an exciting year of learning and working together. |
