The year is moving along and your children are learning so much.  I hope you are as excited as I am at their progress.  We will soon be sending home Third Quarter Report Cards (4-12-11).  Please pay attention to the minuses on the report card and spend a little time at home practicing that skill.  Your help with this in invaluable for two reasons: 1 practice will help your child become proficient and 2 it is important for them to see that what they are learning is a priority with you too.  We are very blessed in this class to have very supportive parents.  Keep up the good work.

Please ask your child to tell you about what they have learned.  Reviewing with you what they are learning helps to move information from their short term memory which they can soon forget to their long term memory which will help them in later grades.

Please review the work in their blue Tuesday folders to see what they could work on at home.  If there is a pressing specific need I will write you a note in the Agenda. 

Here are few dates you might want on your Spring calendar. 

There will be no school on 4-1-11 for Teacher workday.

We will be going on a community field trip to Mooresville (4-7-11)

Please remember to join us for PTA on 4-12-11.  Second grade will be putting on a program.

Spring Break is 4-25-11 thru 4-29-11.  Please have a safe and happy break.  Don't forget to keep reading and writing during this time.

Please work with your children on the complete list of Word Wall Words that came home.  They will need to be able to use them in their writing as well as being able to read and spell them.   There are a set of flashcards on this site that will help you work with your Word Wall Words.
