Kindergarten News

 Mrs. Burns (formally Miss Gardner) and I continue to enjoy working with your children.  Fall is a busy time for us all. We continue to work with our letters and sounds while learning about our Holiday customs in October, November and December.  October is a busy month for us we have a Field trip to Patterson Farms on 10-16-09.  We will have a tour of the facility, take a hayride and pick a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch.  Then on Thursday 10-29-09 we will have our Fall Fun Day in Kindergarten.  If you can help with this activity please let us know.  We need non-candy treats sent in to use as prizes for the games.  The students will be out of school on Friday 10-30-09 for a Teacher Workday.   Thank you for reading Book-It with your child each night.  You will continue to find the schedule of letters on the monthly calendar.  It is very important that you encourage your student to practice the new letters and sounds at home while continuing to use the letters already taught. Encourage them to write using the word wall words and letter sounds they are learning.  Please practice reading and writing numbers to 30, if your child has difficulty with that skill.  Please review with your child the work that comes home in their Tuesday folder to reinforce what we are working on in the classroom.
