Mrs. Mitchem's Kind Kindergarteners

Welcome to Mrs. Mitchem's Class

Parents please make sure you ask your child what they learned that day at school! You also need to sign their planners each night! In a couple of weeks the children will bring home a "Book in a Bag". You are to read it a couple of times and then have them read them to you. You also need write in thier planner what book you read with them! At the end of the year we have an award ceremony to let the children know who many books they read for the year.
One of the most important things you can do to help with vocabulary is to talk about everything. You can ask children questions like: What is that?  Why? questions  are very good for children because there is not just a one word answer they have to explain thier answer. Communitcation is very key to the development of oral language and helps children futher develop written skills!!

Parents I want to send you a warm welcome! I am looking forward to a great third year. I want you to still remember they are only young for a small amount of time. Let them know that you love them everyday.

Do not hesitate to contact me either through email or by a phone call.
Thank you again,
Kristi Mitchem
