Mrs. Barringer's Fourth Grade Tropical School of Fish!!!All fourth graders have been registered to begin First in Math, an online math program that will help them review facts and work out mathematical problems. The information they need to log in has been taped to the back of each child's agenda. Please encourage your child to check this site out and review mathematical problems. We will be using this site at school as well. All fourth grade students have been registered for Study Ladder as well. This is a free review site that offers games and activities that review all subject matter. Each student will be given a password and username that will be taped into the back of their agendas very soon. We are going to have a safe, productive, happy, rewarding and wonderful year together!! Please visit my school notes page for important information regarding events happening in the fourth grade, such as birthday announcements, field trips, Star Student of the week, Good Citizens, and daily homework assignments. May = June = Twelve Powerful Words All students at Bostian Elementary School will be polishing their test-taking strategies while mastering Dr. Larry Bell’s Twelve Powerful Words for increased performance. The words are: trace, analyze, infer, evaluate, formulate, describe, support, explain, summarize, compare, contrast, predict. Students in the fifth grade a required to pronounce, spell, define, use in a sentence, and create a question with the words so that they can become an important part of each student’s vocabulary. Ask your child about these words. They may surprise you with what they already know.
