Hello, Students and Parents! Welcome to English Studies. Mrs. Walker's Schedule Spring Semester 2011: 1st-English 4 2nd-Honors English 3 3rd-English 4 Honors English requires several readings outside of class. Students are given a few weeks notice prior to the date these readings should be completed for class assignments. Juniors will focus on permission forms and research components of the Graduation Project. Seniors will finalize portfolios and prepare for presentation of projects. This IS a graduation requirement for the RSS system. April 13-22: English 4 classes will continue studying MACBETH. Activities for each act, guides and quote sheets, will aid in constructing a final project, a unit test and an essay written with citations from the play. This material will continue throughout the month of April. Our test will be May 3, after Spring Break.Honors English 3 will complete their timed essay test for ETHAN FROME on April 13. We will study transcendental writers, Thoreau and Emerson, beginning April 14. They will read "The Night Thoreau Spent in Jail" and watch the film, "Dead Poet's Society". |
