2012 Senior Class News
Seniors - we are now looking for students who would like to participate in the Baccalaureate Service on Sunday, June 3, at 2:00 pm. The service will be held at the Tree of Life Church. There will be a rehearsal the previous Sunday, May 27, at 2:00 pm at the Tree of Life Church. We are looking for singers, dancers, if you play an instrument and readers. Please let Ms Smith know if you are interested as soon as possible.
Seniors who have not picked up graduation orders need to see Mrs. Smith in room 3044C
Extra graduation announcements are available for $1.50 each. You must bring the exact amount to Mrs. Smith. Please see her before or after school or between classes.

Senior Class Photo - What: Seniors gather for a group photo - When: Friday, June 1, 2012 at 8:50 a.m. - Who: All Seniors - Where: JFHS gym - Dress: Caps, gowns & appropriate graduation attire
Senior Awards Assembly and Reception - What: Seniors are recognized for academic achievements and individual scholarships. Seniors are reminded that they need to inform their guidance counselors of all scholarships and/or awards they receive. - When: Friday, June 1, 2012 at 9:50 a.m. - Who: All seniors and their families (only siblings will be excused from class at JF to attend) - Where: JFHS auditorium – reception following for seniors and family - Dress: Caps, gowns & appropriate graduation attire - Food Donations: Parents are encouraged to donate food; see list of parent advisors below.
Baccalaureate - What: The baccalaureate service is a special graduation event celebrated by the school faith community. It is an inclusive worship service that celebrates the commonality of faith of the senior participants. This is not a school sponsored event, but a Senior Parents sponsored event. For more information, see the list of parent advisors below. - When: Sunday, June 3, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. All seniors attending and participating in the service should arrive at the church by 1:30 p.m. Mandatory practice on May 27, 2012 at 2:00 at Tree of Life Ministries for those seniors who sign up to lead/participate in the service. Seniors will have the opportunity to sign up to participate in Baccalaureate during lunches in April (after Spring Break). - Who: - Where: Tree of Life Ministries - Dress: Dresses, skirts and blouses, jackets, dress slacks, ties
Senior Class Night - What: Seniors gather for dinner. In addition to dinner, they will share their Last Wills & Testaments, award the Senior Superlatives, dance to the DJ, and receive a class gift. There is no additional cost for the evening for those seniors who have paid their class dues. - When: Sunday, June 3, 2012 from 6-9 p.m. - Who: Seniors only!!! - Where: Phase 2 4009 Murray Place, Lynchburg - Dress: Casual (Please follow the school dress code.)
Senior Breakfast and Graduation Rehearsal - What: Senior class parents will host a buffet breakfast for the Class of 2012. - When: Friday, June 8, 2012 at 8:30 a.m. - Who: All graduating seniors, senior class faculty advisors and administration - Where: Breakfast in the cafeteria, rehearsal in JFHS gym - Dress: Casual (Please follow the school dress code.) - Donations: Parents are encouraged to donate food. Please see list of contacts below. Graduation - Where: Liberty University Vines Center - When: Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. - Who: Everyone is invited, unlimited seating
Additional information: Seals for Diplomas and Awards Seniors need to check with their guidance counselors to verify that all information has been turned in for diploma seals and possible awards. This information is needed as soon as possible. You can find more information on diploma seals in the Program of Studies on the
Senior Photos - Seniors will receive a proof of the handshake photo (taken at graduation) mailed to the home. On the proof is an order form for the handshake photo and one for the group class photo. - A preview of the senior portraits to be used in the yearbook and in senior slide shows will be available March 30. Seniors need to check this preview to insure that the correct image has been used. Changes to the yearbook or slide show portraits cannot be made after April 6. Class dues A few seniors still need to pay their class dues of $25. Dues must be paid in order to attend Senior Class Night. Mrs. Smith is still accepting payment for class dues.
