Title I Island of Knowledge
I am so happy to be back in Title 1! My student teaching is complete and I have returned to Title 1, serving all grades. My Kindergarten friends and I have been reviewing letter sounds/formations as well as sight words, using the very effective Orton Gillingham techniques. This multisensory approach is a very useful strategy that helps learners of all types. In my first grade small groups, we have been involved in guided reading groups using the Early Success program. We focus on decoding, phonics and comprehension strategies. In grades 2 through 5, I go into the classroom and work with students during their reading classes. If you have any questions about the Title 1 program, please do not hesistate to send me an email or you can contact me at school (704-857-2322, ext. 208). Thanks!
