November 2009 ![]() This page is maintained for students and parents so that you can know what we are working on in the classroom... Welcome to another great year at Isenberg! Language Arts: We are now studying poetry and writing our own. The students have been really creative! We have now divided into two reading groups for each class, one group is reading My Father's Dragon and Sign of the Beaver. We will be able to discuss elements found in the novel as it pertains to our skills in the basal. High Frequency Words: As we progress through the year, please review these words and help your child to find them in newspapers, magazines, and books. Social Studies: We are studying about the beginnings of our country. Explorers are up next and then colonial settlements and the formation of the United States are the current topics. Writing: We are still working on narrative writing, but the students are trying to write on a deeper level. They are working to capture moments of strong emotions, writing stories that will make us laugh out loud, feel empathy, or make us sad and cry. ![]() Disclaimer: Linked sites are not under the control of the school district or its employees.
