Welcome to Mrs. Curry's Informational Page for Students and Parents! We are busy as Autumn is beginning to show and the weather is cooling down. 

Current Academic Focus Areas
Reading/English Language Arts- We have started theme 2 in our reading series which focuses on stories that focus on traditions.  Does your family have a special tradition that you could share with your child?  We will be talking about that in class.  We are also learning grammatical concepts such as comma use, identifying and making singular and plural nouns and writing contractions.

Writing - We are focusing on the three parts of a story: beginning, middle, and end.  We are learning what elements make up these three parts of a story.

Math - Students are studying subtraction with regrouping (borrowing) and will move into telling time. The related concepts of temperature and reading a calendar will also be taught.

Science - We are learning about the Skeletal and Muscular Systems of the body.
