High school is just around the corner for my students!  In preparation for high school, we will be combining some reading and response to literature activities.

Literature

Students are currently analyzing the elements of drama and just completed reading The Diary of Anne Frank. There are no upcoming homework assignments, HOWEVER students should be reading their library books for 30 minutes per day in preparation for our conferences in class. Also, I will be out of the classroom on maternity leave and will return on April 9th. Mrs. Van Nevel, a certified Language Arts teacher, will be my substitute. She will cover the novel The Outsiders.

Chapter 10 Power Word Quiz today.  Reviewed 10.1 homework that was assigned on 1/13.  Students began reading 10.2 and worked on a handout on Antebellum Society in GA.  Finish as homework.

The Chapter 10 Test is on Friday and the Chapter 9 and 10 EQs are also due on Friday.
