Mrs. Ramos's 2/3rd Grade Bunch1/24-1/28: Students will be taking Interim Assessments in Reading and Math this week to monitor progress in these areas.
SPELLING WORDS FOR 1/24-1/28: Focus: Prefixes & Suffixes misuse, rethink, uncover, joyful, harmless, quickly, nonstop, kindness, enjoyment, unlock, rewind, disregard, biggest,larger, misplace READING VOCABULARY FOR 1/24-1/28: No reading vocabulary this week WHAT WE ARE DOING THIS WEEK:1/24-1/28 Reading Focus: Affixes/Reading Application/ Literacy Analysis on Fiction articles. Language Arts/Writing: Students will be identifying the prefixes and suffixes of given words to determine meaning. We will also begin narrative writing this week. Students will have a graded assignment in which they have to differentiate and identify a narrative and expository prompt. (Friday). *Weekly benchmark assessment on Friday. Writing assignment for a grade on Friday. MATH: It is important that students continue memorizing their multiplication facts up to 10. Mathfactcafe.com is a great website that provides flashcard practice and printable worksheets for the students. This week we will continue focusing on Chapter6 (Polygons). We will be working out of pgs. 330-351 in our math books. Math textbooks are available on line, students have been provided with the information necessary to access the book. *Students will be taking a multiplication and division test on Friday. We will also be doing a GIZMO (computer program) activity as a class and students will have a graded assignment based on the activity. SCIENCE: This week we will be focusing on Properties of Matter. Students will be reading pages F6-F32 in their science books. We will also have an open-book graded assignment on Tuesday. Vocabulary for science: matter, property, volume, mass, density, buoyancy, weight, solid, gas, liquid, mixture, solution, physical change, periodic table, element, atom, compound, chemical change.
SOCIAL STUDIES: This week we will only be focusing on Science. WISH LIST
