Welcome to Kuhn's Math Home!  I currently teach Honors Geometry and AP Calculus at Salisbury High School.  This will be a place for me to keep students and parents posted on any events or other exciting happenings.  I will also keep a permanent list here of school supplies that you need for Mr. Kuhn's classes:

The following syllabi may be useful in better understanding these courses:

Geometry:
High school geometry (Euclidean geometry) focuses on the study of points, lines, and shapes, both 2- and 3-dimensional.  Our first unit focuses on lines and angles.  These three chapters also introduce the concept of geometric proof.  The second unit has four chapters all about triangles.  This is our longest unit, with introductions to similarity and congruence.  Unit three is on quadrilaterals and circles.  This unit also touches upon geometric transformations.  The fourth and final unit is area and volume.  Here we will study area of polygons as well as surface area and volume of solids.  Following all of this we review for the final exam.

Calculus:

Calculus AB is the study of limits, derivatives and integrals in two variables.  We study many functions and their rates of change.  One of my favorite aspects of calculus is that it brings together numerous topics from previous courses and shows relationships between topics that may have seemed unrelated.  This course is similar to many Calculus I courses at colleges and universities.  Students that take both semesters of calculus will then take the AP exam.  A score of 3, 4, or 5 can earn college credit.
