Mrs. Young's Weekly Notes ~Strive Hard~ EXAMS ARE NEXT WEEK! STUDY, STUDY, STUDY!!!!!!!! BLOCK 1 TUESDAY JANUARY 17TH BLOCK 2 WEDNESDAY JANUARY 18TH BLOCK 3 THURSDAY JANUARY 19TH BLOCK 4 FRIDAY JANUARY 20TH Weekly Objectives for November 18th This week students will write, graph, and solve inequalities. Students will be assessed on inequalities on Friday, November 18th. We will be using EDU 2.0 beginning after the Thanksgiving Holidays. Please send me your email address so that you will be able to use the site for calendar informations, assignments, etc. I will no longer be using School Notes to post our weekly objectives. Students will continue to write their weekly objectives and homework assignments down on Monday, so please sign them. Weekly Objectives for November 7th Students will review simplifying algebraic expressions and solving equations. Students will complete ratios and proportions review and Body Ratios Project. Cumulative Test will be given on Monday November 14, 2011. Students have copied the detailed weekly agenda and homework assignments. Please view and sign. Weekly Objectives for October 24th Students will take a practice test on Combining Like terms and Solving Equations. Students will review vocabulary for ratios and proportions unit and take notes. Students will be solving problems involving ratios and proportions. Students have homework EVERY NIGHT and assignments MUST be signed by a parent or guardian. Please check with your child each day and sign their homework assignments. Weekly Objectives for October 17th Instead of focusing on the project outlined below, students will be reviewing topics from their precvious test. Today I retaught Combining Like Terms. Students took notes on the topic and was provided an homework to complete. Parents must sign their homework assignment. Their test papers were also given back and they must be assigned as well. Friday October 21st, I reteach Solving Simple Equations and students will have a practice worksheet to complete and get signed by a parent/guardian. Students will be simplifying algebraic expressions and solving simple equations. Students will complete end of 9 weeks projects to review topics covered during the first nine weeks. Students were given their projects in class to begin on today October 19th. Students will also work on their projects in class on October 20th. Projects are due on Friday October 21st. Parents must signed their child's project. Unsigned projects will result in a 10 point deduction. Weekly Objectives for September 26th This week students will use fractions and decimals to evaluate expressions, convert among fractions, decimals, and percents, and round decimals. (NCSCOS Objective 1.01). Monday /Tuesday ~ Students will review how to use calculators to work with fractions and decimals. Students will complete Review Practice and continue in class on Tuesday with reviews in preparation for Test on Wednesday! Wednesday ~ Students will complete Test # 2 on Fractions, Decimals, and Percents. Thursday ~ This is an early release day. Students will participate in centers to review all topics learned in class thus far.
Weekly Objectives for September 19th This week students will use fractions and decimals to evaluate expressions (NCSCOS Objective 1.01). Monday ~ Students will convert among fractions and decimals. Students will evaulate expressions involving fractions and decimals. Students will use the order of operations and integer rules to evaluate expressions involving expressions. Tuesday ~ Students will review for Fractions and Decimals Assessment. Wednesday ~ Students will show mastery of fractions and decimals. Thursday ~ Friday ~
