WHAT'S HAPPENING IN THE ART ROOM?!!!! Wow!! This year is passing fast! It is almost Spring! Lower grade students will be making torn paper mosaic kites, flowers and insects. Upper grades will be working on self portraits, more color theory and drawing skills. We have been studying Pop Art, Op Art, value, forms and complimentary colors. We have discussed artists Andy Warhol, M.C. Escher and Jackson Pollock. We will add Georgia O'Keefe, Pablo Picasso, Claude Monet, and Edouard Degas in the coming weeks. The Elementary Art Show at Waterworks Visual Arts Center will be on display from March 20th through April 7th with the opening reception on Thursday, March 25th from 5:00-6:30 PM. Waterworks is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM-5:00 and Saturdays from ll:00 AM-3:00 PM. All elementary schools will be represented. Please come see what the students in Rowan County have been doing in their art classes! Thanks for all you do to help me bring art to your children! Sincerely,
