Welcome to Coach Walton's web page. I look forward to working with you and your child during the 2009-2010 school year.  As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call me at 704-639-3018 after 2:30pm.


The boys are now in Health studying diseases in preparation for the "Family Life" curriculum.  We will be passing out Family Life Exclusion letters to each student in the next two weeks that are to be taken home and read by both student and parent/guardian.  The purpose of this letter is to explain what will be taught to your child during this unit.  However, some parents/guardians choose to teach this subject to their child instead of letting the schools Health educators teach it.  If you elect not to have your child participate in this unit, please sign the exclusion letter and have your child return it to his/her Health teacher.  Those students excluded will be given an alternative assignment and sent to the media center during their Health class.  If you have any questions about the class or content, the media center has a complete copy of the Family Life curriculum or feel free to contact me.


PLEASE remind your child to continue studying Larry Bells "12 Powerful Words".  These words need to be learned to ensure success on the End of Grade Tests in May.


The NRMS Wrestling team is off and running.  We only have three matches left until the Middle School Wrestling tournament.  The tournament will be held at West Rowan Middle School on Saturday Jan. 23.  Please come out and support these hard working student-athletes.
