autumnc.thm.gifWelcome to Mrs. Austin's AIG Class! I am thrilled to be at Faith School. The children are motivateda and are eager to learn. Fourth Grade Reading Vocabulary: The students will use Cartoon Vocabulary,a rhyming mnemonics enrichment program to enhance their vocabulary. Daily assignments will accompany the program.(See contract) The students will be reading Mystery of Skull Island. Daily assignments should be completed along with a pirate project due at the end of the book. (See the contract for more details) Fifth Grade Reading Vocabulary: The students will learn Greek and Latin stems to prepare them for future SAT tests. The students will be studying point of view by rereading several folk tales. Later, they will read the novel, Summer of the Monkeys and study figurative language and character anylsis. Fourth and Fifth Grade Math Since this is an enrichment program, I will be using Singapore math, model drawing, Super Stars and other materials to enrich their classroom instruction. Other News You are invited to drop by the AIG room Thursday, February 11th from 3:00-3:30 to meet me and address any of your concerns. I hope to see you there. |
