The link to Rowan-Salsibury School's webpage is: It has homework tips and help for parent's commonly asked questions. Click on "Departments" then "Elementary Education director" to find "Third Grade Standard Course of Study" to better understand what your child is learning this year. *A BIG HUG and Thank You to those parents who help in giving the teachers duty-free lunch once a month. You wouldn't believe how nice it is to be able to sit down for several consecutive minutes to eat in a quiet place or enjoy conversation with other adults! Our PTA is fantastic! They do SO much for our school as a whole, and the teachers individually. Thank you for supporting them. Accelerated Reader Your child is expected to read A.R. marked books (checked out from our school library) and take tests on them on the computer at school to meet their personal goal. This goal is set by your child and I according to their ability. You will continue to be notified as often as possible as to their progress toward it. If a book is not A.R., your child may write a summary of the book to earn the same amount of points. The students who have met their personal A.R. goal will receive a prize! Grading Late student work will be dropped a letter grade, but is still due by the end of the week or will not be accepted. It is much too difficult (especially without an assistant) to catch up on papers that should have been turned in on time! Family emergencies and illnesses, of course, are exceptions!! I post student grades on Engrade and you will have your own username and password to view your child's grades in any subject whenever you wish. I hope it is a helpful resource for you. Let me know if you have questions about it! Upcoming Events: See the calendar link at the top of this page! Hats off to... ... our Recycling Managers:Jason and Landon ! Notes and e-mail are my choice for communication, since I can answer them in between lessons. I check every day to see that each child has his/her agenda. If you need to get a note to me, this is definitely one of the best ways to do it. However, if you need to speak with me, please call the school at: (704) 855-5591. You may need to leave a message on my voicemail. I will return calls as soon as possible, but please indicate whether you want me to return your call or not. You may also e-mail me from this webpage. I can answer those quickly if needed. Please don't get discouraged if you don't hear from me right away. Some days are busier than others!! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
