All County Band All County Solo recordings are now posted for students to listen to while practicing. All major scales must be tongued and memorized. The chromatic scale must be slurred and memorized. The solo does not have to be memorized. Please click the file for your instrument to hear the solo. Saturday, February 11th, All County Band Auditions @ NRHS 10:00AM- Students register 10:45AM- Auditions begin 1:00PM- Auditions End *Students that are taking the ACT on that day will be allowed to audition even if they show up after 1:00PM. Friday, February 24th and Saturday, February 25th, All County Band at JCHS
Band Booster Meeting Tuesday, February 7th Fundraising Ideas: Chicken Dinner Sale, Drink Sale, Spaghetti Supper, An "Event" to be held on May 12th. Chicken Dinner Sale: Proposed date would be on Friday, March 16th. Pick up times would be from 10:30AM-6:30PM. Large deliveries would be made by the person that sold the tickets. April and Kevin Alexander would be the project managers for this event. Tickets would be sold for $8.00 and we would make $4.00 per ticket. Pick up would be at the Carson High School Band Room. Drink Sale: Looking into having Cheerwine or Sundrop to be our suppliers, or both. Mrs. Yow will be the project manager for this event. This is something that could take place in the middle of March, right after the Chicken Dinner Sale, or in April. We would run it for two weeks and then have delivery that following week. Spaghetti Supper: The idea of a spaghetti dinner fundraiser was entertained and tabled. This will be a great idea for some time in the beginning of May. We could do it at the school or at a local church. The jazz band would provide entertainment. One suggestion was to make sure there was enough room for people to get up and dance. Another suggestion was to have two sittings. One earlier and one later to break up the crowd. This has been a successful fundraiser in the past and could do well again. Preview Show: The tentative date for the Preview Show will be on Saturday, September 22nd. Mark Shuping will be the project manager for this event. Committees will be formed once the Committee chairpeople get together to discuss their needs. March 6th- Band Concert at 7:00PM featuring the Concert Band and Jazz Band March 16th- Chicken Dinner Sale at JCHS Band Room March 17th- Oyster Roast sponsored by the Athletic Booster Club March 31st- Jazz Band Performance at Carowinds April 26th, 27th, 28th and 29th- BEAUTY AND THE BEAST MUSICAL AT JCHS May 29th- Band Concert at JCHS- 7:00PM A letter was sent to those that still owe band fees. We would like to get this cleared up as soon as possible so that we can finish paying off our transportation bills. We still have $4,785.00 in outstanding band fees.
