We are continuing to learn new word families and have begun a unit on blends and digraphs. Take-home reading books are coming in each week and the children are enjoying showing off their reading skills to the fifth graders on Fridays. Writers Workshop continues to go well and the children are honing their writing skills through stories, letters to Mrs. Hunsucker and me, notes and cards. In math, we have begun a unit on addition and are continuing our unit on larger numbers. We began our unit on oviparous animals this week and are looking forward to hatching some baby chicks. Our topic in reading is Spring and we are planting a garden on the back porch! We will keep you updated through notes on the homework page and in Thursday folders. ![]() As always, if you have any questions, please contact me at school or by email.
