Fall Is In The AIR!(Or  is it winter?)

Thank you so much for your cooperation in making sure your child comes prepared for class each day.  Having their homework is a part of being prepared.  I'm concerned about the time put into reading by some of the children.  Reading is very important for second graders.  We want them to read at least five different days of the week.  It's important that you ask your child about what he/she has read.  Listen to him/her read.  Encourage him/her.

We are currently learning about arachnids and other creatures in science.  In social studies we are learning about how our communities have changed and continue to change.  Place value continues to be our focus in math.In language arts we are learning the difference between fact and opinion, working on antonyms and synonyms, and forming compound words.  We will write a Halloween or fall story this week.
