Help Us to Welcome in 2012!  In January we will be working on: multiplication/division facts and applying them, measurement skills including which unit of measure and what tools will best help us to get a good measure, and we will begin to explore fractions. We will be reading to learn as well as learning to read. We are focusing on fact and fantasy. We will explore how to interpret what we read and be able to explain the author's purpose for writing the pieces. We will be attacking the High Frequency words and making them a regular part of our everyday reading and writing. In all areas of study for the rest of the year, students will be required to explain how they solved a problem, or came up with the answer they have. This will be difficult for many of the children as this will be very new to them. Please help by having your child explain their thinking to you each night when you are reading or doing other homework.   Weekly Enhancement Schedule
