Algebra I

Currently:

Second semester students have been busy factoring polynomials.  We have factored using several different methods including GCF and the grouping method.  Today we factored trinomials.

Organization:

In order to keep students organized, each student is required to keep an assignment sheet.  These sheets are run off on colored paper so they will not be misplaced.  Every assignment that is given is logged in on this sheet and given a specific number.  Mr. Brown and I have our overhead copy for students to copy from and use when they are absent.  When our assignment sheet if full, students are given a "notebook check" that requires all papers logged in on the sheet to be in the notebook in chronological order.  For this students are given a test grade of a 100. 

Daily Routine:

It is important that students participate in the daily warm up.  Warm ups are given each day and collected at the end of each week for a grade.  They are also logged in on our assignment sheet.  Warm ups are designed to review skills that are prerequisite skills or are a review of the previous days work. 

Attendance is very important for student success.  I would like to encourage my students to visit www.algebra1.com to practice some of the chapter tests.
