WELCOME TO MRS. BAILEY AND MRS. FILE'S KINDERGARTEN

Please read with your child every day. Let him/her read the words that they will be learning. Be sure to write down ALL books that you read at home together.
Our workshops for these units will include writing, reading, math using numbers and graphing, science and social studies.

We are introducng our new "popcporn" words now. Pleae help your child learn to read and write these words:

December will be a busy month!  
We will be graphing and making patterns in Math.  We will study different thematic units:  Trees, Holidays Around the World.....Mexico, Germany, USA and other holidays.  We will learn all about Hanukkah and Kwanzza. Many of our favorite holiday books will be studied such as The Polar Express, The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer, and The Legend of the Candy Cane.
Crafts are much a part of getting reading for the holidays, so we will be busy as elves.

The letters Tt, Mm, Cc, and Kk will be studied as well.

We will also be meeting all our 'ZOO PALS'. Please ask your child each night about which animal he/ she has met and the sounds they make. These sounds will soon become words that we can read!!!!
Have your child introduce our new "Zoo" buddies to you and the sound it makes.

Agendas: Please check and sign your child's agenda daily. Be sure to check back pocket for any special notes or homework. Check your child's color dot each day. Praise your child for green and possibly reward with ice cream. For a yellow, red or purple, please remind your child of the rules and the importance of following them. ICE CREAM DAY is FRIDAY every week. Thursday Folders: Folders will come home each Thursday with your child's work from the previous week. Please go over the work with your child and you may keep it. We may also send important notes from the school in the folder as well. Classroom Rules: GIVE ME 5 1) Ears listening 2) Eyes watching 3)Hands still 4)Feet quiet 5)Lips closed
