We have had a great first nine weeks.  The end of the nine weeks will be Thursday, Oct. 29.  Please remember you can check here to find out what is going on in your child's classroom.  Thank you to all parents for signing your child's agenda, recording nightly reading(this is a grade), and signing the weekly folder that comes home.

    We are changing classes for reading.  I think the students enjoy this and have adjusted real well.  All students should bring home a red vocabulary composition book that has the week's reading vocab and definitions in it. Some students may have puzzles they have made to help them learn the words and definitions. They will need to study this for Friday when they will have a vocabulary test.  They can bring it home each night as long as they bring it back each day.

     My reading class will be reading "Miss Rumphius" the week of Oct. 19 - 22. This week's vocabulary words are:  lupines, bloomed, headlands, hollows and bushels.

     The spelling words for the week are:  spine, ribs, skull, brain, bones, wrist, skin, protect, shape, body and hard.  The bonus words are posture and ligaments.  The test will be on Friday.

     In Math we are working on subtraction with regrouping in the tens, ones and hundreds place.  The students are doing well.  A "0" in the ones, tens, and hundreds place can sometimes be a little tricky for them.  We will begin multiplication in November!!!
