     My reading group will be reading the story "Raising Dragons" this week(Jan. 11-15).  The vocabulary will be in their red vocab notebooks.  Vocab words are appetite, chores, hitched, plow, harvested, sown and tended.  Vocab test will be Friday.

     The spelling words for the week of Jan. 11-15 are:  large, gym, skin, quick, picnic, judge, park, jeans, crack, orange, second, and squeeze.  The bonus words are resources and conservation.  The test will be on Friday.

     We are multiplying away in math.  We have had our test on the 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 11 and 12  facts.  Next  7 and 8's.  We are almost done and ready to start our fast facts testing.  The Dollar Store has some good flashcards that you can get to practice with.

     In Science we are studying the different types of soils.  We had fun making a compost to watch and predict what would happen to the bananas, apples, oatmeal and PAPER!
