We have had a great first nine weeks.  Second quarter has began.  Please remember you can check here to find out what is going on in your child's classroom.  Thank you to all parents for signing your child's agenda, recording nightly reading(this is a grade), and signing the weekly folder that comes home.

   All students should bring home a red vocabulary composition book that has the week's reading vocab and definitions in it. Some students may have puzzles they have made to help them learn the words and definitions. They will need to study this for Friday when they will have a vocabulary test.  They can bring it home each night as long as they bring it back each day.

     In reading this week we are doing an author study of Dav Pilkey.  We will be reading some of his books and doing some activities with each of them.  There will be no vocabulary words this week or next.

     The spelling words for the week are:  think, around, different, down, change, study, world, between, start and kind.  The bonus words are continents and oceans.  The test will be on Friday.

     We have started multiplication in math.  We will have our first test on Friday.  It will be on the 0 and 1's facts.  These are pretty easy but be sure to study.  We will continue then with the 2's, 5's and 10's.  These will all be before Thanksgiving.  The Dollar Store has some good flashcards that you can get to practice with.
