What's going on in Miss Garmon's class? Reading: We just finished a unit of study on the novel The Best Christmas Pagaent Ever. We will continue our novel studies during reading class along with increased EOG practice. Reading logs are due EVERY FRIDAY! Throughout the week, your child should read a total of 80 minutes and submit three journal entries that are at least 5 sentences long. Remember, reading logs are due EVERY FRIDAY! Math: Currently, we are working on fractions. Students are learning to solve mathematical problems using their knowledge of fractions. Many fraction type problems require multiple steps. Please make sure you are reviewing your child's notes which includes these steps. Science/Social Studies: In science, we are studying weather and will soon be moving into our study of ecosystems. In social studies, we're studying United States history and working on map skills and the United States regions. There are tests on each of the regions which will require your child to locate the state on a map, name the state, name the capital, and tell the abbreviation of the state.
