BIENVENIDOS A LA PAGINA DE ESOL (Ingles Para Hablantes de Otras Lenguas)
2008-2009


El Examen ACCESS

El Examen de Ingles para los estudiantes que hablan otros idiomas fue completado el dia 23 de Marzo de 2009. 

Los resultados del examen seran enviados a los padres en junio del 2009. Se espera que este nuevo examen nos provea a los maestros con informacion mas especifica con respecto al progreso de los ninos y su adquisicion del idioma ingles.


Retencion de Estudiantes

A los padres de ninos hispanos que han recibido cartas de retencion, se recomienda venir a una conferencia con las maestras y analizar la situacion entre todos para tomar una desicion a final del curso. Por favor llamenme si necesitan ayuda para programar las conferencias.

EOG - Examen de Final de Grado

Los estudiantes de los grados 3, 4, y 5 que han estado en las escuelas de Estados Unidos por mas de dos anos presentaran el examen EOG en mayo. Por esta razon, los padres necesitan apoyarlos mucho y estar pendientes a todo momento. En la clase de ESOL, los estudiantes estan haciendo actividades para adquirir mas vocabulario y facilitar la comprension de lectura en lenguage, ciencias, y matematicas. Trabajen con ellos en casa y expliquen conceptos que sus hijos no entiendan utilizando su primer idioma para facilitar comprension. Los maestros de sus hijos modificaran la manera de tomar el examen para hacerlo mas facil para los estudiantes de manera que estos puedan obtener mejores resultados.

The ACCESS Test

The ACCESS testing was completed on March 23, 2009.

The scores will be delivered to each parent in June 2009. It is expected that this new test shows us more specific information in terms on the needs and the progress of ESOL students and their acquisition of English as a second or subsequent language.  

Students Retention 

To the parents of ESOL students who have received a retention letter, it is recommended to schedule a conference with the grade-level teacher and I in order to discuss your child's performance and make a decision that will ensure academic success for students. Please call me if you need help to schedule a conference. 

EOG Exam

ESOL students who have been in US schools longer than two years will complete the EOG tests with accomodations. These accomodations were determined by the ESOL teacher and the grade-level teachers at the beginning of the school year. Teachers need to take a look at the copy of the ESOL Student Education Plan if necessary in order to remember what accomodations apply for each ESOL child in their homerooms. Parents need to make sure that ESOL students are practicing with the EOG materials provided by me in class to every single child in grades 3, 4, and 5.
