*Senior Awards Assembly is Friday, May 21st at 8:30 a.m.*
Please read carefully and see if you are eligible to apply for these scholarships. Information and/or applications are available in the Guidance Office.
1. E. R. and Lillian B. Dimmette Scholarship. Must be nominated by the Superintendent of Schools in Rowan County. Must demonstrate substantial need for financial assistance. Deadline to Guidance March 11, 2010.
2. Cleveland Lions Club – Joe Hall Memorial Scholarship. Applications available in Guidance. Due to Guidance March 19, 2010.
3. Susan G. Komen Scholarship. Must have lost a parent to breast cancer. Apply at http://www.komen.org/scholarship.
4. Matthew Graziadei Achievement Award. For students with disabilities. See Mrs. Beard for more information. Deadline March 22, 2010.
5. Rowan Business Alliance. Demonstrated leadership, good character, 3.0 unweighted GPA. Minimum SAT 910 (Critical reading and math only). Information will be coming to Guidance in one to two weeks.
6. Rowan County Masonic Scholarship. Applications in Guidance. Due to Guidance before March 30, 2010.
7. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Must be accepted at a four-year school. Award for African-American students. Applications available in Guidance Office. Applications must be received by the sorority before March 31, 2010.
8. Spirit to Learn Foundation Scholarship. Applications in Guidance. For students who have faced extreme hardships. Due to the Foundation by March 31, 2010.
9. R.A. Clement Scholarship. Awarded on basis of need, academic achievement, and school and community involvement. Application are due to the organization by April 1, 2010.
10. George Knox Scholarship. Awarded on basis of need, academic achievement, and school and community involvement. Deadline April 1, 2010.
11. Waterworks Dare to Imagine Award. Involves an art portfolio. Due to Waterworks April 2, 2010.
12. Piedmont Players Theatre Scholarship. For students who have participated in theatre productions in some way - $1,000. Due to Piedmont Players Theatre by April 12, 2010.
13. SEANC – State Employees Association Scholarship. Further information at www.seanc.org or at 800 222-2758. Due April 15, 2010.
14. Rowan Rotary Club Scholarship. Academics and community service. Applications are available in Guidance. Applications must be turned in to the Rotary Club by April 15th, 2010.
15. RCCC Scholarships. 3 different scholarships available in Guidance. You must also have your application completed to RCCC by this date. Due to Guidance by April 16, 2010.
16. NC Student Scholarship/Loan for Health, Science and Math. Based on major, GPA, and financial need. Must complete the FAFSA. Information and application at www.cfnc.org/hsm.
17. Salisbury-Rowan Home Builders Association Scholarship. Student must be planning to enroll in a construction related field. $500 award. Applications are in Guidance.
18. Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, and Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church Samuel R. Johnson, Jr. Memorial Scholarship. These scholarships should be coming into the Guidance office in the next week or two. Please listen to the announcements for further information.
Reminders:
- State Employees’ Credit Union “People Helping People” Scholarship. Due April 15th.
- R. Flake Shaw Scholarship. Due March 9th to Guidance. To Farm Bureau office by March 15th.
- NC Child Support Council Scholarship. Due April 16th.
