Language Arts/Writing: Please make sure that you study the spelling words with your child.  The spelling words are also the high frequency words.  Students need to be able to read and spell the third set of the 25 sight words by the end of 3rd quarter for an assessment.  These are also used as their spelling words each week so make sure you study with your child. Flash cards for the third quarter are available on this site.

Math: Students continue to enjoy working with manipulatives.   The manipulatives provide a hands-on learning experience for the children and make learning fun! Continue to practice math facts at home to develop fluency.

Science: Our class has enjoyed learning about matter.  They really enjoyed our sink and float experiment! 

Social Studies: This quarter, we will continue to study certain holidays such as Dr. Martin Luther King day, Presidents' Day to name a few.  We will also focus on economics (goods and services).

Continue to read every night, study high frequency words, and math facts.

A snack schedule has been sent home.  If you are not able to send a snack on the assigned day, please let me know.  Also, if your child is sick, do not send them to school.  We do not want to put other students at risk.

Make sure you review classroom rules with your child.  We respect ourselves, respect others, respect learning, and respect property.  Remind them of the importance of following rules at school.
