Welcome to

Second Grade

January 25, 2010

Dear Parents,

I hope you enjoyed your extra days off last week. Because of yesterday’s flooding, this will be another 4-day week — so get your homework done early! We will read a story about a family in New York City, a culture far away from North Carolina. In math we will work on regrouping with subtraction and will also review measurement and telling time, something done earlier this year. We will be writing a story about snow and snowmen and will continue our study of solids, liquids, and gases in science. It should be a good week.

On Feb. 12, a week from Friday, we will have our Valentines party. Your child may bring in a box to decorate, and if you have an extra box, please have your child bring this in to share. A list of children in our room was sent home in the homework folder in case you want to begin writing Valentines this week. Have a good week – Mrs. Hallquist
