Welcome to Exploring Business Technologies. 

The format of this class has changed this year.  EBT will consist of quarter classes.  In 6th grade, we will learn proper keyboarding techniques, computer components, and proper technique.  We will create basic word documents. 

7th grade will work on enhancing keying skills and more advanced word documents. 

8th Grade will polish keying skills and work on various office software including word, excel, access, powerpoint, and publishing. We will use wikispaces and gaggle.net for classroom communication.

General Class Description

     Keyboarding is a transferrable skill that will offer students an advantage as they enter high school and prepare for college or entering the job field. We will learn how to key the alphabetic and numeric keys and learn basic  word processing skills.

Students learn how to format a memo, personal-business letter, and business letter.  We also create tables and learn to format reports.  Language arts skills are reinforced in this course as we use correct punctuation, use the spell and grammar check features of word processing, and learn to proofread documents. 

     Advanced students will learn more about word processing, and explopre spreadsheet, database, power point  and publishing software.
