Gifted Science

6th, 7th and 8th Grade

February 6th  - February 10th

Brainteasers will be given out in class on Monday.  They are due on Friday.

 

Grade sheets will be handed out on Monday, February 3rd.  Extra credit points will be awarded for those returned with a parent signature.

 

Standards for the Week:

Sixth Grade:

S6E4. Students will understand how the distribution of land and oceans affects climate and weather.

Seventh Grade:

S7L5. Students will examine the evolution of living organisms through inherited characteristics that promote survival of organisms and the survival of successive generations of their offspring.

Eighth Grade:

S8P4. Students will explore the wave nature of sound and electromagnetic radiation.

Monday: 

6th Grade:  Cloudy Logic Lab

7th Grade:  Charles Darwin Power Point

8th Grade:  Lab:  Waves

Tuesday: 

6th Grade:  Cloudy Logic Lab.  Quiz:  Weather words.

7th Grade:  Complete Darwin Power Point

8th Grade:  Lab: Waves

 

Wednesday:

6th Grade:  Cloud Activity:  Identifying clouds

7th Grade:  Darwin's Finches

8th Grade:  Lab:  Waves 

 

Thursday:

6th Grade:  Fronting the Weather Lab

7th Grade:  Lab:  Darwin's Finches

8th Grade:  Only first period will meet today due to scolosis screening.  Review for first period.

 

Friday:

6th Grade:  Fronting the Weather Lab

7th Grade:  Tying it all together:  Natural Selection

8th Grade:  Waves activity.
