Standland's 6th Grade Language Arts Class Oak Grove Middle School "Can't Hide Our Pride!" May 14 - May 18, 2012 We survived the MCT2!!!!!! Announcements: The language arts final exam is this Friday, May 18 during your child's regular language arts block. I will be giving 1 more grade plus the final exam. Please, please help me encourage your child to do his/her best! This week we will be reviewing for our final exam. Students will be completing a study guide in class. We will correct it so they can study it throughout the week.
Special Note*** If you checked out a Buckle Down Workbook, please return it to me this week. Thanks! Excessive tardies will have a consequence and can possibly be turned over to the truant officer. Students will be written up on a short form on their first tardy and receive a long form on their second tardy. Dates to remember are: MCT2 - May 8-10 6th Grade Awards Day - May 15 Language Arts Final Exam - May 18 Math Final Exam - May 21 Science Final Exam - May 22 Last Day of School - May 22 (We will dismiss at 11:30) Please note any student NOT having their materials in class will earn break detention or a short form. Such materials include handouts, notes, binder, "bell work" folder, ID, paper, pencil, pen, highlighter, AR book, homework, "CHOP" folder, or anything else required by the teacher. Students must learn to be responsible. Learning is affected when materials are not brought to class.
Objectives for this Week: We will review for our final exam which will be on Friday, May 18. It will cover skills we have learned all year. Please see study guide!!! Homework: Study your language arts final exam study guide each evening! We Can Make It!!!! Summer Fever has hit, but we need to finish strong!!! Report to the Multi-Purpose Building between 7:15-7:50. Between 7:50 and 8:10, report to the D Building hallway. During this time, go to cafeteria to get breakfast, and return to D hallway to eat. Go to C Building Office to turn in all bus transportation change notes, check-out excuses, or absence excuses. The halls must remain quiet. Please read AR book or study! Enter the classroom at 8:10. Students need to keep a disposable rain poncho or small umbrella in their backpack for rainy days. They will get very wet loading buses and cars!
