Welcome to my homepage! This page contains basic information about language arts. For more specific information, please follow the links below. Classroom rules In addition to the school rules, the following agreements will be used to foster a positive and safe classroom atmosphere:
Grading: LA: A variety of projects will be assigned each quarter. Since projects will be completed primarily in class over several days, they carry the most weight. Rubrics will be used to grade all projects, and students will be required to self assess before the project is turned in. All work is in a single category called assignments. Assignments that are worth more, such as tests or long-term projects, will be counted as two assignments. Homework Policy All homework is due the following day of class unless specified in writing. Students will be allowed to turn in late homework with a -10% penalty, per day, (off the given grade) until the Friday of the week the homework was given. Once Friday has passed, the homework will become a zero. Planner Students should have their planner everyday. They are expected to write their personal learning goal, class work, and homework for the week on Monday (or the first day of the week). Every Friday, planners will be checked and graded based on completion. |
